The main tasks of explosive ordnance disposal include not only the immediate removal of unexploded ordnance (EOD / Explosive Ordnance Disposal), but also the examination of explosive ordnance contamination during planned construction measures and the subsequent possible clearance. To maintain public safety, explosive ordnance abatement specialists employ diverse means of hazard mitigation. These include products for the personal ballistic protection of individual defusers, as well as tools or equipment that assist in the investigation and removal of ordnance.
