Whether it is explosives and drug detection equipment, passive ballistic protection such as letter bomb disposal bags or reconnaissance robots – we have since been involved with security technology equipment for police and military defusing services, special task forces, airports and customs authorities.
Because we know that high-quality service is particularly important in highly technical areas, we also support our customers with comprehensive services before and after the purchase. In addition to individual consulting, we offer training, maintenance and service contracts, and manufacturer-certified repairs. Depending on the product, we support with on-site service by trained technicians and organize expert disposal with confirmation of disposal.
The milestones of ELP GmbH

Foundation of ELP GmbH European Logistic Partners by Peter Weiss in Wuppertal. Initially, as a sole proprietorship, specialized exclusively in the field of remote handling of technical equipment.
Peter Weiss enters into an exclusive distribution partnership with the Canadian company Med-Eng (formerly Allen-Vanguard) for Germany, Austria and Luxembourg. By working with the specialist in personal protective equipment and special tools for military and public safety personnel, it expands ELP GmbH’s service to include manufacturer-certified repairs and spare parts supply.
Since the early 1990s, Golden Engineering’s mobile X-ray units have been sold by ELP GmbH. Today, our service workshop is the only one in Europe that can perform manufacturer-certified repairs.
Itemiser® makes its way into ELP GmbH and is successfully distributed in German-speaking countries by Peter Weiss. Today, explosives and narcotics detectors are an integral part of the ELP GmbH product portfolio.
The remote manipulation vehicle PackBot® becomes part of the portfolio of ELP GmbH European Logistic Partners. At that time still manufactured by the US company iRobot. Unmanned systems have since had a major impact on the success story of ELP GmbH.
The development of ELP GmbH is progressing rapidly. Economic success makes a move to larger premises essential. The new location will be Nützenberger Str. 359 in Wuppertal.
Company founder Peter Weiss retires from the operational business and hands over the management of the company to his sons Colin and Simon. Both have grown up “in the business” and are very familiar with the subject matter. With a lot of entrepreneurial spirit and sense of responsibility, ELP GmbH has been growing steadily ever since. Currently, 50 employees are working on the future of the company every day.
Since 2021, ELP GmbH has been the only EU service center to support all European customers of our long-standing business partner Med-Eng. This makes ELP GmbH the exclusive Med-Eng service partner for personal protective equipment and tools in Europe.
