Radio data transmission technology
Interference-free and protected communication
Ensuring reliable and secure communication is critical to the success of tactical operations. Often, the specific operational parameters are either insufficiently known or completely unknown in advance. Despite this uncertainty, emergency responders are increasingly expected to demonstrate a high degree of flexibility in terms of time and location.
Another challenge lies in the variety of data to be transmitted, including location information, coordinates (including changes to them), images (of the scene and events), and videos (such as reconnaissance footage from UAVs). In addition, control signals must be transmitted to various end devices such as robots, UAVs, and cameras. In various operational scenarios, different systems are also used in parallel, or additional systems such as repeaters are integrated to increase range or compensate for terrain-related interference.
To meet these demanding requirements, sophisticated technology is essential. Persistent Systems’ Wave Relay™ technology provides such a solution, enabling secure and scalable connectivity in a Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET)—with no limit on the number of wireless devices that can collectively form a peer-to-peer network. A MANET is an evolution of MESH technology and is characterized by a self-forming and self-healing network with no restrictions on data transmission.
In addition, with Cloud Relay™, Persistent Systems offers the ability to establish seamlessly connected links to bridge Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) to Line of Sight (LOS) networks. This technology works in conjunction with Wave Relay technology and enables remote access to video, voice, and data to and from all MANETs. A seamless transition occurs across Layer 3 networks, such as the Internet or a private network (e.g., SATCOM), routing traffic to another MANET in different parts of a city, a district, a country, or even in different parts of the world.
