The Steatite CRiB is a rugged mobile operations hub that provides a powerful multi-screen HQ management platform for rapid deployment in the field. It is extremely mobile, easy to operate and quickly ready for use.
The hot-swappable UPS power supply with two UN-approved BB-2590 batteries enables over 4 hours of operation without an external power supply. With a powerful i7 processor, 32 GB RAM and a 1 TB SSD hard disk, the computing power of the CRiB is ideal for running high-quality situational awareness software applications.
Powerful and robust
At the same time, the CRiB also has an equally powerful Android computer on which Android APK files and applications can be deployed. Both Android and Windows software applications can be run in parallel. A dual-screen interface and an HDMI connection enable the use of a third external screen.
The glove-friendly, robust keyboard and mouse with IP66 rating in the center of the CRiB console offer the user direct operation of Windows and Android systems. Switching between the two systems or a combination of both is possible at the touch of a button.
Versatile functions
Additional USB ports allow the connection of external keyboards, mice and Windows-compatible peripherals. With an integrated microphone, stereo speakers and an 8 megapixel front camera, the CRiB offers comprehensive video conferencing functions. It can also be used for push-to-talk voice transmission and ensures crystal-clear communication between multiple call groups, either individually or simultaneously.
The CRiB is equipped with the very latest MANET technology and is based on the Persistent Systems Wave Relay product family. It can natively connect to a wave relay network via RF without the need for additional hardware.

MIMO technology
The CRiB uses the so-called MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) technology. This enables the simultaneous reception and transmission of different data packets (e.g. voice radio, video and control of an unmanned system). MIMO technology is particularly suitable in urban environments with poor signal propagation.
Unlimited, powerful network
The great innovative strength of the CRiB system is its dynamic mobile ad hoc networking (MANET) capability. Any number of devices in the system can independently establish a network and represent a separate node. This also includes unmanned systems or remote sensors. Each new subscriber increases the density of the network or, in its periphery, the range.
