Effective protection

The TSR helmet was developed with the aim of providing search and reconnaissance units with a high degree of flexibility, comfort and functionality. Thanks to its features, it effectively protects against the most common threats associated with explosions: Overpressure, fragmentation, impact and heat.

This helmet is particularly suitable for CBRNe operations as it allows easy and comfortable integration with most breathing protection systems used by EOD/IEDD teams. The helmet thus supports the performance of demanding tasks in the search for improvised explosive devices and booby traps in confined spaces.

Threats from explosives detonations

Thanks to its explosion-attenuating design, the helmet reduces the risk of injury and ensures effective protection against explosive threats. However, the TSR helmet is deliberately designed so that it is not considered part of a bomb protection suit.

The TSR helmet is equipped with an inflatable air cushion that ensures a comfortable fit for different user sizes. By using a hand pump, the air cushion can be brought to the desired pressure in order to achieve an optimal and precisely fitting sitting position.

The various functions of the helmet, such as lighting, fan and communication, can be conveniently controlled via a remote control attached to the wrist.

The power supply can be operated either with 10C cell alkaline batteries or with rechargeable NiMH batteries and offers a runtime of up to 6 hours with the lighting switched off and 3 hours with the lighting activated. The actual operating time varies depending on the use of the various functions of the helmet.

TSR helmet and TAC6: optimum protection for tactical operations

The TSR helmet is compatible with various tactical search and reconnaissance suits and fits perfectly with the TAC6 suit. Together they offer an ideal balance of protection, mobility and flexibility for demanding missions. However, this equipment does not replace a full NIJ standard bomb suit.

Rather, it was developed for specialized missions where conventional bomb suits are impractical due to their weight and limitations. The focus is on a balance between protection and mobility in order to provide the best possible support for emergency services in dynamic and dangerous environments.
