TSR helmet and TAC6: optimum protection for tactical operations

The TSR helmet was developed with the aim of providing search and reconnaissance units with a high degree of flexibility, comfort and functionality. Thanks to its features, it effectively protects against the most common threats associated with explosions: Overpressure, fragmentation, impact and heat. The TSR helmet is compatible with various tactical search and reconnaissance suits and fits perfectly with the TAC6 suit. Together they offer an ideal balance of protection, mobility and flexibility for demanding missions. However, this equipment does not replace a full NIJ standard bomb suit.

ELROB 2026: ELP robotics under real operating conditions

From June 15 to 19, 2026, it’s that time of year again: our robotics experts are taking part in the European Land Robot Trial (ELROB) in Switzerland – one of the most demanding international competitions for unmanned systems in safety-relevant environments. Over the course of five days, companies, researchers, users, authorities and organizations with security tasks from various countries will compete and present their technologies under realistic operating conditions.

The competition comprises four central disciplines: Convoying, Recon, Mule (transport) and Search & Rescue (SAR). This year, the focus is particularly on the coordinated interaction of unmanned ground and air vehicles (UGV/UAS).

We have already impressed with our strong performance at ELROB on several occasions and have received awards for our systems. In 2026, we will continue to pursue the goal of demonstrating innovative approaches and actively shaping the further development of robust, practical robotics solutions.

Successful range tests with impressive performance

Last week, our team of ELP experts carried out successful radio range tests together with our partner Persistent Systems – with impressive results. Using sector and point-to-point antennas in combination with the powerful MPU5 MANET system, stable connections were achieved over a distance of more than 60 km.

Even over this great distance, video, audio and data transmissions were ensured reliably, stably and in consistently high quality. The tests impressively demonstrate the potential of this technology – especially for demanding communication scenarios.

Special thanks go to Persistent Systems for their excellent cooperation and valuable support during the entire test phase.

DSEI UK 2025 – International Trade Fair for Defense and Security Technology

The DSEI (Defense & Security Equipment International) UK took place in London from September 9 to 12. The trade fair is one of the most important international events in the field of defense and security technology. It offers armed forces as well as industrial and research institutions a platform to present the latest developments and promote professional exchange. This year, the focus was on technological innovations and strengthening cooperation between the players involved.

Among other things, the team from Boston Dynamics and ELP GmbH presented the innovative “X-DiS” disruptor integration developed by ELP for the agile walking robot Spot. Spot belongs to the latest generation of mobile remote-controlled robots and is characterized by high mobility and autonomy. The Spot X-DiS accessory, specially developed for defusing tasks, now extends the range of applications of the Spot system to the field of bomb disposal. The presentation of this solution met with broad international interest at the trade fair, underlining the relevance and topicality of the approach in an international context.

Our robotics experts will once again be taking part in the European Land Robot Trial (ELROB) in Switzerland in 2026. From June 15 to 19, 2026, international robotics experts will meet at the European Land Robot Trial in Thun to test their systems under realistic operating conditions.

For the first time, the event will focus on the interaction between ground and air robots, which places new demands on coordination and autonomy. With their renewed participation, the team from ELP and Roboverse Reply are reaffirming their commitment to the further development of modern robotic technology.

Successful participation in EnRicH 2025

The fifth edition of the European Robotics Hackathon (EnRicH) at the Zwentendorf nuclear power plant near Vienna, which has never been put into operation, ended at the end of June with record participation: 15 teams from all over Europe and Canada met from June 30 to July 4, 2025 to test robotic systems under realistic accident scenarios.

For the first time, this year’s unique competition also focused on combined scenarios for robots and drones. This year’s winning team, consisting of our ELP robotics experts and our partner Roboverse Reply (specialist for IT integration), was honored with the coveted award in the “UxV Cooperation” category.

A big thank you to the successful team for their team spirit, commitment and perseverance – and congratulations on this outstanding result!
